Christmas Tessellations

It's very easy to design your own Christmas paper, if you think about the Tessellations you have made in maths. Just choose any shape that will tessellate, add your own colours, pictures or text, a bit of copy and paste and voila! Here's an example:

Christmas Projects

Our end-of-term project this term had a Christmas theme. Here are some examples:

Chris
Mikayla
Billie-Rae

We've put some of the animations together into a little movie:

What would you do if . . . ?

After watching the YouTube movie below, Year 9 took homework sheets home to talk over with parents, about how they would handle some tricky situations.

Back in the classroom they worked collaboratively to add their ideas to our class Voice Thread. This was very easy, and everyone managed to get on with very little assistance from me.

End of Term 2 Already!

Time to say goodbye to another lovely group of year 9 students - I hate losing them, but I do get to meet a lot of our year 9 students so it's not all bad! Here are some of the animations we created this term - unfortunately it's not all of them but you will be able to see how clever these guys are. These are all painted and animated by the students - for most of them it was their first time using paint.

Also, a selection of PowerPoints on the topic "ICT Technology . . . Skills Learnt".

Farewell Year 9

Unfortunately today was the last day for my Year 9 ICT class - next term they will start the next stage of the technology rotation. For the last two weeks we've been creating PowerPoint shows, to highlight some of the things they have learnt in the course. I'd love to share all their presentations here, but it is just too many so the class have selected a few for me to include here. Well done everyone - you are all fantastic!!

Year 9 Morphing & Animation

Morphing is not only fun, but also an excellent way to graphically illustrate changes from then to now, before/after etc. Consider creating your own morphed images for inclusion in presentations. Year 9 have been experimenting with the free morphing software, Sqirlz Morph.

We've also been creating our own animations (more info about that below, in Year 10 posting. Once again I've put these together in Windows Movie Maker, for inclusion here.
